MyNest (“we”, “us”) is an MSME Registered Startup based at Dibrugarh University, Dibrugarh, Assam, India. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data when you use themynest.in and related services (the “Platform”).

By using the Platform or creating an account, you acknowledge this Policy together with our Terms & Conditions.

1. Who we are

MyNest operates a broker-free accommodation marketplace connecting tenants and property owners in Assam. Contact: support@themynest.in. GSTIN is not applicable.

2. Data we collect

  • Account data: name, email, phone, role (tenant/owner), password hash or Google account identifiers.
  • Listing data: property details, photos, location, pricing, amenities, and owner contact fields you provide.
  • Lead / contact requests: messages and preferred contact method between tenants and owners.
  • Payment references: UTR / reference numbers and notes you submit for owner subscription review (we do not store full card details; payments are manual UPI/QR).
  • Technical data: device/browser info, IP-related security signals, session cookies, CAPTCHA tokens, and activity logs needed to run and secure the Platform.
  • Support data: messages you send via assistance forms or email.

3. How we use data

  • Create and manage accounts, authenticate sessions, and reset passwords (including OTPs).
  • Show listings, process contact requests, and notify owners/tenants about leads and account events.
  • Review listings and subscription payment confirmations.
  • Prevent abuse (rate limits, lockouts, CAPTCHA) and improve reliability.
  • Respond to support requests and meet legal obligations.

We do not sell personal data.

4. When we share data

  • Between users: when an owner approves a tenant contact request, relevant contact details are unlocked as designed for that lead.
  • Service providers: hosting, email, image storage (e.g. Cloudinary), security (e.g. Cloudflare), and optional analytics may process data on our behalf.
  • Legal: where required by law or to protect users and the Platform.

5. Cookies and sessions

We use cookies / session storage for login (including HttpOnly auth cookies, typically about 7 days), security, and basic site function. You can clear cookies in your browser; doing so may log you out.

6. Retention

We keep account and operational records while your account is active and as needed for security, dispute handling, analytics, and legal compliance. You may request account closure via support@themynest.in.

7. Security

We use industry-standard measures such as hashed passwords, secure cookies, rate limiting, and CAPTCHA where configured. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

8. Your choices

  • Update profile details from your account where available.
  • Request access, correction, or deletion of personal data by emailing us, subject to legal exceptions.
  • Opt out of non-essential marketing if we send any (transactional messages about your account or leads may still be required).

9. Children

The Platform is intended for users who can form a binding contract under Indian law. We do not knowingly collect data from children in a manner that requires parental consent under applicable law. Contact us if you believe we have such data.

10. Changes

We may update this Policy. The “Last updated” date will change. Continued use after posting means you accept the updated Policy, except where law requires additional consent.
